Quick draft and shitty layout. I'll fix it up later.
In this time with the Donquixote Pirates, he was taught and quick to catch on swordsmanship from Diamante and marksmanship from Gladius at a young age. Even then, he was taught martial arts from Lao G. Law's main choice of style would be swordsmanship.
A crafty man, he shows great potential in both being an opportunistic leader--whether it be for a crew, or even a former Supernova, to the point that Doflamingo Donquixote had a heart seat saved for him in hopes of Law becoming the third Corazon. Despite being regarded as one of the most powerful pirates of the generation, he was the only one to reside in the "Paradise" half of the Grand Line for at least a couple of months, rather than immediately entering the treacherous New World region. This indicates that he's capable of a great deal of caution and tactical mentality. The pirate captain is capable of devising plans with minimal miscalcuations--one of the only times being in his attempt to overthrow and kill Doflamingo Donquixote when he miscalculated the presence of Vergo, one of the elite officers and an occupant of one of the Heart Chairs who quickly overtook him. Some of these plans often leave the targets in a lose-lose situation and one-sided scenarios in order for things to play in Law's favor. A lot of these even include trickery, seeing as how cunning he can be at times.
Law has shown to have Haki, the power that every liviing being in this world carries. Basically described as the "fighting spirit" or "drive", "vigor". There are three different types of Haki: Kenbunshoku, Busoshoku, and Haoshoku. Which of these is associated with Law is uncertain and has yet to be revealed but enough has been displayed--at this moment in time--that he shows Busoshoku, the ability to use his own "will" as armor to defend himself against the attacks of another.
In addition to the Devil Fruit, see "Ope Ope", he has sufficient physical strength and tactical powess that he uses to get by, or to evently match his opponent on equal terms, meaning he is no superhuman. Law displays great endurance, whether it be physical or mental. He was capable of enduring his physical heart being crushed, to the point he only lost consciousness for a little while before recovering and dealt through various brutal beatings--mostly given by Vergo during his time with the Donquixote Pirates, and even after, leaving him in a bloody mess. In the harassment of Doflamingo, he even managed to quickly recuperate and escape after being defeated, injured, and beaten down while pinned by Admiral Isshou's gravity devil fruit power.
During his second confrontation with Doflamingo, Law was able to continue to hold his own even still wounded from their previous ecounter but with the addition of his right arm being severed competely off with further assault, he continued to fend off the former World Noble.
Physical Abilities
Medical Expertise
Since childhood, Law had already attended the academy for medical science, with his father who had been the noted best doctor in Flevance who showed him how to perform the more intricate procedures.
His knowledge and abilities in the medical field, along with his skills on the battlefield has earned him the title "Surgeon of Death". Despite being the feared pirate that he is, he's a considerably skilled and excellent doctor and has been proven over the course of the years, and judging by a few of his patients that his skill does not limit to the human anatomy, taking Jinbe for example. On the island of Punk Hazard with the drugged children, he reluctantly volunteers to figure a cure for them, indicating that he is well versed in pharmacology as any other doctor should be.
The powers and abilities given to him by the Ope Ope fruit that he consumed years back allows his surgical performances to be easier as it allows him to cut open his patient's body and remove organs as he sees fit without inflicting any sort of tissue damage--or damage in general--leaving scars, or even causing his patient to bleed. Even in battle, he's capable of doing this and often does it to render his opponents vulnerable and defenseless.
Weapon Choice
Law's choice in weapon is a Kikoku, a large version of the japanese sword type known as an odachi. It has an oblonged-shaped hand-guard coated with white fur--similar to his hat--sheathed in a black scabbard decorated by white crosses going from the opening to the end. A small piece of red rope is tied near the opening. His proficiency with is is outstanding, seeing as he's been training with one nearly all of his life. Due to its size in comparison to him, he carries it against the front of his shoulder, leaning it to keep it from going anywhere without his consent, unlike the others who use it who carry theirs on their hips or back. There are times when he'll have one of his crewmates carry it for him.
In his struggle with Doflamingo, he was able to deflect and protect himself from the strings and going undamaged, even though they were seeming to cut through everything else around them--even through splash damage.
In battle, he uses the Ope Ope to enhance the ability--and even the range of his kikoku even though if attacked by the devil fruit's abilities, it can't and won't physically harm the victim, but can render them useless until he can deal the deadly blow with the kikoku itself.
